CHICAGO PLUMBING SYSTEM
CLIENT: Jesse Brown VA Hospital
LOCATION: Chicago, Illinois
Purpose:
This initiative was essential for enhancing health and safety conditions at the Jesse Brown VA campus by preventing a potential outbreak of Legionella, a waterborne bacteria that can lead to severe lung infections. By addressing critical plumbing issues, Richard exemplified its dedication to uplifting community health and advancing well-being through proactive facility renovations.
Challenge:
The undertaking involved a comprehensive overhaul of the plumbing system across the campus, which posed significant logistical challenges and risks to health. Richard deployed a dedicated five-person team to assess and upgrade the existing piping, removing sections that exhibited low or no water flow, which could contribute to Legionella formation.
Outcome:
Over approximately 390 days, Richard successfully replaced plumbing lines and fixtures, effectively eliminating the threat of Legionella on campus. This initiative not only enhanced safety and health for all patients, staff, and visitors but also showcased Richard's ability to manage complex projects that prioritize well-being within healthcare environments.
Testimonial:
“Richard is committed to excellence, and a big part of that is keeping the facilities we work in safe and free of disease for our occupants.
